“That’s what they say on the internet (that Adesanya will come under 205 pound limit), I don’t believe in this thing,” Blachowicz told MMA Fighting ahead of UFC 259. “I focus on me, on my preparation, on my camp. I train with faster, lighter guys, I train with guys from my category. I also train with heavyweight guys. Because we will see on the day, one day before the fight, and fight day his size and then we’re going to be ready for everything.

“That’s why I train with faster guys, lighter guys, my category and with the heavyweight guys. Because I want to be ready for everything. This as you know is a game, this is business and you have to be ready for everything.”

“I will tell you after the fight. I don’t know,” Blachowicz responded when asked if Adesanya is big enough for light heavyweight. “I just saw him a couple of times before his fight against [Paulo] Costa and me at the same event. So I just saw him a couple of times but I don’t know. We will see in the fight, on the day of the fight and after the fight. You can call me and we will see.

“But for sure, he’s going to feel something different than he’s felt before. Because at 205, everything is different. Power is different. Speed is different. Even if you train with light heavyweight guys and heavyweight guys, this is only sparring. The fight got its own rules and he’s going to feel it. This is good for me. 205 is my category. I do this all my life. I feel everything inside octagon over there. It’s going to be better for me.”

“Because I’ve got the legendary Polish power and when he feels it, he feels it for real,” Blachowicz said. “You will see.

“After first kick or the first punch, he’s going to know what I’m talking about when I’m talking about the legendary Polish power.”

“If I’m going to have a chance to take him down, I will do this,” Blachowicz teased. “I will try to submit him. I will do ground and pound, something like this. All fights start stand up and I also like fighting stand up. So I’m preparing something for him in striking. You’ll just have to wait until March 6 and watch the fight.”

“Second round, KO by high kick left leg for this guy,” Blachowicz said. “Yes this time kick. This is what I see. In this moment when we’re talking.”

WAR JAN!

Jan is awkward and that's a good thing for him.

He seems to just plod forward, but he has an unusual style with tricky counters.

He has good defense with a quite unusual balance of attack in there, he doesn't defend>attack>defend in the same way most fighters do it, he's constantly in a battle stance where chooses whatever is required at a given second.

That being said, Izzy is so quick and so skilled, defensively as well as offensively... It only takes one, but Izzy can avoid danger for a long time, as he has proved before.

worst champion since Forrest Griffin, thats why Izzy is trying to cherry pick him, i could see him clipping izzy in the first round though.

  • Jan: “After first kick or the first punch, he’s going to know what I’m talking about when I’m talking about the legendary Polish power.”
  • Israel: "He’s got a lot of power, but I don’t plan on getting touched at all.”

I imagine both these statements are true

This might look like the Yoel fight

I dont know why yoel didnt test adesanya's grappling. Especially to counter the fact that izzy was just prancing around throwing weak leg kicks

Imagine celebrating Izzy's loss.

I bet you don't have much to be proud in your life.

He said a celebration. What he wrote seems to mean celebrating Jan’s win. It is possible to celebrate one guy’s win, as opposed to celebrating another guy’s loss. They are two different things you know.

You’re salty, and assuming way too much.

Sit back and enjoy that Legendary POLISH POWER.

I like Jan but does anyone else think it's extremely tacky when someone puts so much weight on where they're from. This "legendary Polish power" title that has been shoved down our throats is all Jan has going for him, and we all know that Jan is far from being the hardest puncher or the most skilled striker that we've seen, and I'm part polish.

i have a feeling that jan's physical strength with play a factor here. we never saw that being a problem for israel at 185 but jan is a really strong guy. if he can force clinches or get in on israel's legs, it could be interesting.

Jan isn't an exact accurate puncher in his class, I don't see him able to train with anyone to replicate what Adesanya brings. Would be an upset for sure.

I remember that first time Costa punched him...

I think Izzy will toy with him for 5 rounds. The difference in striking skill is my x factor
his fights at HW got me thinking how slow he made life long kickboxers look. Lord knows Jan hasn't been doing the damn thang that long
