We had a big fight and unfortunately this time, we came up short but here’s the secret; you live with it, we are all disappointed but we’re OK!” Kavanagh said. “In Conor’s (McGregor) case, certainly, the last six months have been amazing. The discipline and effort that he’s put in. When you’ve done that when you’ve left no stone unturned, you’ve made every training session, you made weight the right way, you’ve made the walk, you competed as hard as you possibly could.

Competition has two sides to the coin — winning and losing — and sometimes it’s going to fall on the losing side. That’s something you have to get used to — the quicker you get used to failing, the quicker you are going to have success.

We’ve woken up this morning, we’re back on the yacht in Dubai and guess what, the sun rose and we all still love Conor. We are going to pick ourselves up and figure out some of the technical issues that went against us on the night, fix them, get back up on the horse and go again. Win or learn.

That's fine and dandy I suppose, but why did you as a head coach, allow a boxing-centric game plan in the first place? And why is a BJJ coach allowed to give advice to striking? Much less a boxing coach to dictate a game plan in a MMA fight? Owen Roddy should have been the main striking coach and allowed to come up with the game plan.

This is why I think little of Irish Edmond, IMO he's a fraud and a shill, that's riding on the coat tails of Conrad's success. I've always maintained that SBG are hacks and outside of Conrad, no one else UFC caliber. Please don't mention Gunnar, he barely trains there anymore.

they won't fix anything. One thing i've seen in all of the videos of Mcg training, he's doing what he wants at the time and pace HE WANTS. Irish edmund can train whatever but in the end, Mcg dictates the training.

Besides, he'll gas faster if he adds more stuff into his arsenal.

Conor's team is holding him back. I understand his loyalty but Kav sounds like he's in it for just the money now. If Conor doesn't want to end his career like Ronda he needs to branch out and find new trainers. They had bad game plans and can't properly analyze strengths and weaknesses in their game and in their opponents game. I won't be too confident in Conor doing well in any of his future fights if he sticks to only training with his current team. He has holes in his game that has been figured out and I don't think his team has the technical knowledge especially in striking to fix it.

Well I would hope they would.

John hate is overrated

Conor became the double champ under John and gave us these classics

Crazy thought but fighters don't always win. This is nothing like Ronda since Conor has already proven him self time and time again.

He just needs to go back to his light on the feet approach and stay active. He wont win every fight but he'll give us some highlight reels for sure.

So you’re hating on him for saying they’re going to do exactly what they need to do?
Okay. So you don’t think he’s qualified, fine.

But what he said is what needs to take place. So don’t hate on the guy

Remember,
Conor came in with a different game plan for the second Nate fight and won almost as a direct result. That happened to be kick related as well. Give his coaching and his strategic planning some credit, were not talking about scrubs here. This is the world class were armchair quarterbacking for

It's never a good sign when your coach is a bit of an attention whore. Kavanagh has always been this way from when Conor was on the way up...
