Who was truly the best in this era?

These were the top guys in no order

Bendo
Frankie Edgar
Eddie Alvarez
Gilbert Melendez
Josh Thompson
Michael Chandler
Cerrone
Pettis

IMO it's a toss up between Alvarez and Benson... sux they never fought

2012? I forgot what I had for breakfast.

Also, to elaborate.....best at what?

I believe Bendo & Eddie were set to fight on the TJ/Cruz card, but Eddie pulled out & Cowboy filled in on 6 days notice winning a gift decision.

Also Edgar vs Melendez is one of the great fights that never happened, 2010-11 would have been the best time to make that one.

Even though I dont really care for Bendo he was probably the best on paper around that time. I wish Thompson was more active around then. His Domination of Diaz really stuck with me and shows his skills and fight IQ

Was Frankie the guy with the most rematches in high lvl MMA?

Was looking at his record:
Bendo- 2 fights
Maynard - 3 fights
BJ - 3 fights
Aldo- 2 fights
Cub - 2 fights

You left out Pettis. He was the best fighter during that period imo.
