His striking TESHNEEK clowns everybody. Technique is not about weight class. Well there is a little crossover between athleticism and technique but between one weight class, there isn't a large difference. So he would actually do better at LW where he would retain his technique and put a little more power in his hands, not have to go through a tougher gruelling weight cut, and will also probably help his cardio by having more fat to burn.
The only thing he is achieving by cutting to LW is his height which gives him a reach advantage, distance management advantage and wrestling. But Teddy Atlas would tell you, height is an advantage but get a guy who knows how to work the pockets, it can be nullified.
