A woman has filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against UFC superstar Conor McGregor for alleged personal injury, her lawyer confirmed Tuesday with ESPN.

Dave Coleman, the attorney for the woman, said the suit, over events that allegedly took place in 2018, was filed Monday in the High Court in Dublin, Ireland. In addition, the woman's mother has also filed suit against McGregor, Coleman said, in a smaller claim. The attorney would provide no additional details on the case. Per the Independent, which first reported the suit, an associate of McGregor is listed as the co-defendant.

"The matter is before the court," Coleman said.
  • This situation was the subject of an investigation by An Garda Síochána, the national police service of the Republic of Ireland, but there were no charges brought against McGregor and McGregor has denied any wrongdoing, the Independent reported.
"After an exhaustive investigation conducted by the Gardaí which, in addition to interviews of the plaintiff, included interviewing numerous sources, obtaining witnesses' statements, examining closed circuit footage and the cooperation of Conor McGregor, these allegations were categorically rejected," McGregor spokesperson Karen Kessler said in a statement. "The plaintiff knows the facts contradict the assertions in this lawsuit. Mr. McGregor will dispute any claims and is confident that justice will prevail."

McGregor, one of the most popular athletes in the world, returns to the Octagon in a main event fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi. It will be McGregor's first bout since UFC 246 in January 2020. When asked, Coleman said there was "no specific reason" for the timing of the lawsuit being filed.

NY Times (Accusations)

While in the penthouse suite, the woman said in the statement of claim that she was “beckoned” to the bedroom by McGregor, who asked her to perform a lewd act on him, which she refused. McGregor began kissing the woman and removing her clothes, over her protestations, the statement said. After she bit and hit McGregor, he wrapped his arms around her neck and lifted her up three times, after which she ceased fighting back.

McGregor then told her, “That’s how I felt in the Octagon, I had to tap myself out three times, that’s how I felt,” the lawsuit said. McGregor raped her, according to the statement of claim, and demanded she lie on the bed next to him afterward.

The personal injury lawsuit is the latest charge levied against McGregor after a spate of legal issues. This past September, he was interviewed and released by police in Corsica after allegations of “attempted sexual assault and sexual exhibition.” He was fined after he punched a bar patron in Ireland in 2019. And he reached a plea agreement with prosecutors in Brooklyn after he launched an attack on a bus filled with fighters ahead of UFC 223 in April 2018.

State attorneys in Florida dropped robbery charges against McGregor in 2019 after he allegedly swatted a cell phone out of a fan’s hands.

‘It’s old news’ - Conor McGregor responds to civil lawsuits, rape accusation

McGregor’s response to the sexual assault accusation was brief before turning to his UFC 257 main event vs. Dustin Poirier.

UFC star Conor McGregor addressed the recent civil lawsuits against him by the woman who accused him of sexual assault, albeit briefly.

At Thursday’s UFC 257 press conference in Abu Dhabi, MMA Junkie’s John Morgan asked the former two-division champion for comment on the lawsuits and whether it’s affecting his focus ahead of Saturday’s rematch vs. Dustin Poirier.

“You know, it’s old news,” McGregor said. “It was investigated thoroughly over the course of two long years, and I was cleared of any wrongdoing. And that’s it.”

“So much positivity in my life,” he continued. “I’ve got a great challenge ahead of me on Saturday night and I’m very excited to get in. I’ve put in an immense amount of work to get my frame correct at 155, to get my conditioning
—I want to answer questions here and I hope Dustin can bring it to me and we can have a good fight.”

This from one of Conors Assault cases. He has 4 total cases that are known of that involve being accused of assault by different women.

Wouldn’t surprise me if there is more than just those 4. Conor needs to lay off the booze and cocaine he keeps getting in trouble with it
