Media UFC 257 Free Fight: Conor McGregor vs Eddie Alvarez

The touch of death

I get the feeling your jaw is dropped and mouth is open anytime Conor is around or even mentioned. 5/10 troll though, good effort and sometimes funny even if it's a little played out

Very impressive. Connor made Eddie look like a rookie.

Which begs the question, why didn't he try to wrestle?

He did, Conor had takedown defense. Eddie Alvarez isn't some high level wrestler either, he is a guy who is just good enough at everything.

When he fought Conor he just happened to run into a striking specialist who was able to force him to stand up.

This was a classic case of a fighter having lost before he got in the cage. Said himself he did everything he trained not to. Pressure of the occasion and Conor making him fight emotionally.

Man I couldn't believe how easy eddie got trashed. I'm a Philly guy so I was super stoked for that fight. That was the one where I realized I still couldn't stand conor but wouldn't bet against him against anyone. That has to be his best performance.

Alvarez was already badly hurt before he tried to wrestle. He was overconfident and wanted to outbox McGregor, and he paid the price.

Na Eddie didn't seem particularly gotten to at all and their beef was fairly minor, not much bad blood, they even tapped gloves. It was more simply a case of the skill gap being too large.

This was very impressive, but not surprising. We saw in the Diaz fights that Conor is a excellent striker as he outstruck Diaz, both of whom are superior strikers to brawler Eddie. Eddie also doesnt have the chin of Diaz.

idk what Eddie's gameplan was, but he should be embarrassed with himself for such a pathetic performance. Short notice Mendes and Short notice Diaz did way better than the LW champ.

You can look at that multiple ways. Conor might have had a full training camp but in both cases he accepted short notice replacements and the opponents weren't even remotely similar to the original matchups.

You also can't dive in like Bader vs. Rumble for example. You gotta try to set it up at least a little bit. Eddie was never able to and he got rocked early on.

Eddie took a dive

This kind of fighter bashing is banneable.
