I agree but I see Jan just standing with Izzy and not really going to any tds. I think he can win with his power but Izzy is going to be so much more accurate. Jan has more subs than Kos and only recently seemed to have found his love for the ko.

Vettori sorta tried it and took him to a SD but his cardio was too shit for him to do anything significant when he got izzy down.

Izzy’s footwork probably helps to deter heavy grappling, he always knows where he is in the cage and is damn good at circling out to the centre or creating distance making people hesitant to shoot on him.

I dont even recall Adesanya being on a ground. Is he that elusive?

If I was Jan, trying to clinch and get the fight to the ground would be the first thing on my mind.

Jan could probably get the fight to the ground and end it via GNP, but I'm sure we'll see another fight where one fighter thinks its a good idea to stand toe to toe with a clearly higher level striker. Until someone fights izzy with a grappling/wrestling heavy offense, Izzy will remain undefeated.

I could see him clinching on the cage and looking to explode in breaks. he's also gonna be looking for that hook-leg kick counter, and he's got the reach to land it every time.. Jan's a much heavier man with a lot more maturity than Costa. He's not gonna be scared of Izzy at all.

I think Izzy's gonna wanna run make Jan chase and pick shots to wear him down looking for openings like he always does. he's very good at it, but he doesn't have the same range advantage he's enjoyed here. Jan's gonna land on him.

You’re basically saying the same things people said before Romero and Costa fights with

the difference is the range and size. also the boxing. Jan will counter effectively. he's a powerful and accurate composed boxer. I agree there are similar thoughts but Yoel and Costa were stuck like deer in headlights, Costa even more so. Yoel was just looking for a Hail Mary bomb. Jan can box and counter for real, he's longer, stronger and heavier. Doesn't need a lot of wind up to put your lights out either.
