MMA fighters are only on TV 1-3 times per year, for an average of 5 minutes each. NBA guys are on TV from 82-100 times per year, 2.5 hours each, or 15,000 minutes. So, 5 minutes vs 15,000 minutes of generating $$$, no shit they get paid more.

To put this in perspective, let's call the NBA a "full time job". A full time job, the NBA guy, works 2,080 hours a year. By the same ratio, the MMA guy only works 45 minutes a year.

Complaining that MMA guys make less is the same as complaining that, "I work 5 minutes a month. Why don't I get paid the same as the guy that works 160 hours a month? It's so unfair, we need a UBI and a union!"

That was just hypothetical. Most MMA fighters, in real life, actually generate revenue, or work, for less than half that amount of time per year.
I mean I get told on this shilly site how much MMA fighters train, and considering that's essential for a fight, they probably spend a lot more time than you're saying. That's not even including press conference/weigh in times either

I "trained" for my job too. You don't get paid for training because you don't earn money while training. It's the other way around. You actually have to pay for training. I paid for college, and MMA fighters pay for training camps. Going to college, or training, isn't working..

Because no one from the NBA ever has to train or attend press conferences...

A lot of jobs pay for training lol. What kind of shit job do you have where they make you pay for your own training when you already have the job lol. I'm just saying you're counting every minute an NBA player is suited up during the game, not even how long they actually play lol

It's not about fair, it's about real. MMA fighters barely work. They only generate like 5 minutes of TV revenue a year. That's less TV time revenue than an extra in 1 episode on a sit com generates.

So why do boxers get millions when they on for some amount of time?

This is legit the dumbest argument I've ever heard anyone give. I have to believe you're trolling, because if there are humans who don't realize there's a difference between training to be an elite athlete and taking weekend classes to get an associate's in accounting I might facepalm hard enough to give myself CTE. Oh yeah, remember CTE? That thing that fighters get from cumulative damage from training and fights and deal with for the rest of their life?

Also, I suppose you want to pay artists for the 10 hours they spent painting the picture but not for the years they spent learning how to paint at that level.
