The former UFC star posted a photo of himself in training, which was accompanied by the following line: “New year, new team, an announcement tomorrow.”
It didn’t take much for the rumor machine to take off. GSP was also forced to clarify things by specifying that it was not an announcement of a return to competition.
Rather, it was the announcement of a partnership with the Budweiser company. St-Pierre became one of the ambassadors of their non-alcoholic beer on Wednesday.
“We should have written that this was not a fight. I apologize to my supporters and I assure you that this will not happen again, I never wanted to cheat on my fans just to get attention. What I wanted to do is announce that I am with a new team, with a company that I love. I didn’t want to belittle people. ”
“My phone was ringing sick. Stéphan Larouche, my boxing trainer, called me to tell me that my post was very mysterious. I told myself that I had to change that as soon as possible, to be 100% honest, I have a team that works with me on my social media. They are human beings who do a great job. Yesterday’s post [mardi] could have been done in a way we could have avoided all of that. ”
Adored by Quebecers and mixed martial arts fans around the world, GSP wants its relationship with its audience to remain the same.
“It’s a relationship that I really enjoy and I don’t take it for granted. That’s why I’m going to be more vigilant in the future. ”

Additional interview about his upcoming movie:
St-Pierre was busy filming in one of Marvel’s new television series, “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier”. The native of Saint-Isidore plays the wicked Georges Batroc there.
“It’s a huge budget. It’s the biggest thing I’ve done in my life. It’s really big, expressed GSP. I’ve been taking classes to become an actor for a while now. I am working very hard on this. I am very proud of the job I have done on the show. I can’t wait for people to see the result of my work. ”
A fan of the world of superheroes, St-Pierre firmly believes that his passion has helped him in his former life as a fighter.
“I’m a bit of a nerd in this universe,” he revealed. I think this passion influenced me in my adventure with mixed martial arts. When I was in the cage I was like a superhero and as soon as I stepped out of the arena I was back to being a normal human being. “
It will be possible to see the Quebecer at work soon in his new career since the series is due to appear on the Disney + platform during the year 2021.
