23-year old Sudario Tsuyoshi, formerly Takanofuji Sanzo, was suspended twice and forced to retire from Sumo for assaults on lower ranked wrestlers.

After punishing Minowaman with leg kicks he earned his second MMA win via TKO with hammerfists.

Before being forced out of Sumo, Takanofuji was a division 3 champion, and in his first division 2 appearance, put up an impressive 11-4 record.

He said he had to lose 100 lbs to make heavyweight

Losing 100 lbs is no joke. What did he weigh in at for the fight?

When I first heard this match was made I assumed it would be another akebono style sumo wrestler. This dude was built, and actually knew what he was doin. They threw Minowaman to the wolves in that one.

Calling Minowaman a legend is a bit of a stretch, no?

That being said, if this guy can rattle off another win against, say, Alex Otsuka, then he could be the real deal.

What does this mean? Like, he went too hard on them in a match? Or just beat the shit out of them backstage?

He's definitely a legend. Not a stretch at all. I think the problem is probably that you have the wrong definition of the word.
I mean,if minowa is a legend so is everyone else lol

No, not everyone has the role in MMA history that Minowa has, has attracted the following he did or accomplished the things he did.

Well the lower ranked/younger members of the gym/stable serve as attendants to the higher ranked guys.

He bullied and attacked a few of them on multiple occasions, outside of competition.
Yeah the younger fighters traditionally are gophers for the top guys to teach them humuility and respect. I have seen them get brutally treated by the top guys sometimes and they cant do nothin about it.

Yeah... Hazing is/was? a problem in Sumo. From the translated chatter I receive, it seems the governing bodies are trying to crack down on it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokitsukaze_stable_hazing_scandal
"The Tokitsukaze stable hazing scandal occurred in Japan on June 26, 2007, when Takashi Saito (斉藤 俊, Saitō Takashi), a seventeen-year-old junior sumo wrestler who fought under the shikona of Tokitaizan, collapsed and died after a training session at Tokitsukaze stable's lodgings in Inuyama, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. It emerged that he was beaten with a beer bottle and a metal baseball bat at the direction of his trainer."

Here is an interesting video about match-fixing, which was another scandal that hit sumo.
