Defeated Justin Gaethje, Eddie Alvarez, Max Holloway, Anthony Pettis all former Champions.

Lost to Khabib, and Conor two of the biggest superstars ever.

Dustin is 31 years old in his physical prime.

He has the best boxing in the lightweight division, a legendary chin, never quits, always moves forward, and knocks out almost everyone he fights.

He fought Conor at 145 lbs at age 26 which weakened his brain and made him more susceptible to being knocked out. And he was very young.

Conor is a gifted fighter but I don't believe he has maintained the same level of commitment to training and physical athletic skill growth that Poirier has during the last five years.

I think Dustin will outlast Conor's vaunted 7 minutes of power, and KO him mercilessly in the fourth round when Conor gets slow and tired. And then he TKO's with superior boxing anyone else standing in his way to the belt.

Well if he beats Conor and Khabib vacates then he has a good shot at it. I just think Conor matches up well with Dustin. Don't see Dustin taking down Conor and Conor should be better on the feet unless he's just fallen off.

Would like to see it but I can’t see him beating Conor tbh

I'd love to be wrong but Dustin is getting KO'd again.

I love dustin, and its possible he becomes champ, but best boxing in LW division? I think thats the think about dustin. hes good at everything, but I dont think hes the best at any one thing

I think Conor still has the edge on him with accuracy and power..Poirier is slow as shit that's why he always takes a beating even when he wins. I'll still be rooting for him though.

If he beats Conor and Khabib retires, he likely could be champ. I'd favor him against the other contenders (Oliveria, Poirier, Hooker/Chandler).

Though if Dustin does beat Conor, they will likely do a trilogy. Meanwhile there may be a title fight between Oliveria/Gaethje/winner of Hooker/Chandler. The winner of the trilogy will fight for the title. If Conor wins, he will fight for the belt next as he will have 2 wins over Dustin.

Him and Conor are about the same age. I don’t think you can use his age as an excuse. I do think that their next fight will be different, but I hope he isn’t going to rely on his great boxing. He can’t strike with Conor and I hope he knows it. To beat Conor, you need to get out of the first round. Be cautious in round one and try to take him down or dirty box on the cage. If he tries to strike, he will get knocked out again.
