I see this time and time again when personalities make their content exclusive to just one medium, they always fail. Taking your show off the most popular website in the world (youtube) and the most convenient podcasting app (Podcasts app on Apple devices) is probably the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. His show was meant to pass the time, no one is actually that interested in what Joe has to say. This is a big middle finger to his viewers.

I mean... if his goal was to make a shitload of money, then no... no he didn’t.

Also, tell that to Howard Stern
Yeah Howard Stern was popular when the internet wasn’t.... he wouldn’t be able to compete in today’s marketplace where people have way more options than just radio.

The parts he cares about: 1. Money 2. talking to talented and brilliant people about random shit.

it’s a win/win.

your feelings aren’t part of the equation.
It’s not about my feelings, it’s ABOUT THE FUCKING VIEWERS

same thing when all the big media, talk shows catering to the left. Still enough money to ignore half the viewership.

Down load spotify and listen for free. Its really easy...

"no one is actually that interested in what Joe has to say."

Why does any of this matter to you then?
I know, I have Spotify and have listened to JRE on there, but found myself not wanting to do it at all anymore.

The video is on Spotify too lol, and you can even exit out of the app and do other things on your phone while it’s playing
Well I will have to check it out. I don’t listen or watch them on my phone. I have my Laptop connected to my tv and stream everything there.

Has he done a fight companion recently, or is he still doing that weekly MMA-focused show he used to do? I haven't checked in on his channel in years, but I did enjoy him sitting around with guys making asinine chit chat about MMA.

I haven’t listen to a single podcast since he moved to Spotify. I liked the video version on YouTube. Not a fan of just audio podcasts.

Same! I watched in excess of 400 of his YouTube videos, zero since he went to spotify...

his show was dipping in quality the last few years anyway.

Its not the worst thing he could have done. He wasn't getting 100mill from youtube, I'm guessing. Great business decision for him. At the end of his deal, he could always go back. Everything has an expiration date. He wasn't going to be hot forever.

I don’t know anything about the podcast business but Joe got paid & it’s not like his content is behind a paywall

I believe Spotify is second largest podcast platform after Apple. While he will lose some low engagement listeners with the move, he now has Spotify invested in maximizing his audience.
