UFC switch to PFL format

i like the tourny aspect but with all the pull outs and missed weight issues in the ufc it wouln't work

I dont think theyd need to adapt the season part as i dont like that part of PFL but sports based MMA is fantastic...i love there playoff setup...2 fights in one night to get to the finals...beautiful...

I think UFC could benefit alot from getting away from.this Diva WWE shit....i think alot of fighters would be happy to...no more 12 fight win streaks and no title shots...Tony would of fought for PFL titles 2 if not 3 times in the span it took him to become only intrim at the UFC thats pretty bad on the UFC IMO

As a martial artist myself id be hard pressed to choose between PFL and UFC if offered contracts in 2021 ...im not interested in sellijg a character to get a title shot...but UFC still is the most prestigious title in MMA...PFL i love there setup and 1 mil plus sounds good to me way better then UFCs 12k /12k first timer contracts for years worth of fights

Would you be as interested, more interested or less interested?

I would be more interested.

I think Jones would become exciting again, usman probably wouldn't be champ, and we'd see more competitive fights

doesn’t Change it for me. I just care about the fights.

The UFT

Undisputed Fighting Tournament.

I like the point system. Maybe implement slightly differently

It maybe would be interesting for the lower tiered guys for aome easy hype. I dont want starts or top of the division guys to be stuck in that shit though

Tournaments are a great part of the sport imo

DC winning that Grand Prix was awesome would be great if the ufc would do some kind of tournaments other than TUF

And DC wasn't even supposed to fight in it, was he? Pretty sure he was an alternate who got a chance because Bigfoot's original opponent couldn't fight.

Bigfoot was coming off an uncompetitive destruction of Fedor, then he ends up fighting some no-name. I thought Bigfoot was shoe-in to move on; couldn't believe it when I saw what DC did to him. Then Cormier goes on to win the tournament and has one of the greatest careers in the sport's history. Crazy stuff.

The PFL format of a structured season leading to bracketed matchups is intriguing...but remember, it meant that when COVID hit they were SOL. Say what you will of the loosey goosey UFC matchmaking and Dana's whims, but it did mean the UFC could adapt to unstable situations and we had fights to watch.

Dana should put up like 5 million and then we'd see who really believe they're the best and who ducks live competition.
