We used to get lots of guys in MMA that were absolute tanks. Just short, bulky guys that would come forward and just overpower you and manhandle you. Or knock you the fuck out with big muscle power.

I havent seen anyone like that in a long time. MMA seems to select for the tall, rangy guys now. I miss that kind of fighter. Will they ever make a come back? Or did USADA destroy them?

Paulo Costa is a big boy.

Joaquin Buckley comes to mind, and that's just off the top of my head. I'm sure you could still find quite a few if you look at the roster

He's not a tank though, he's just big for his weight class. He has a soft aspect to him that tank fighters don't have.
Nonsense. He's probably carrying the most muscle P4P than anyone on the roster. He's the definition of a tank.

Yea johnny Hendricks was the last one. Usada killed him then ended short tank guys reign of terror.

Mighty Mouse wasn’t called mighty for nothin. They’re not exactly handing the “mighty” moniker out these days.

I think fighters actually learning how utilize their range has done more to kill off these "tanks" that you speak of than USADA

I agree 100 percent, on top of that, a long rangy fighter might not be the best wrestler but these days they practice sprawling and defensive wrestling, clinching, you don't have to be a world class NCAA wrestler, but you do have do be able to defend,...and as long as a rangy fighter can defend, use his range, push back and time the counter on the takedown attempts,...then he or she is good,...times are different now,...being long and rangy in the fight game is always a good thing.

There are guys like that, but I think it's harder for short bulky strikers than 10 years ago. Mma developed a lot
