Did/do you support the push forward by Dana White and the UFC during the government lockdown? Or did/do you support the opinions of the MMA media in 2020 that the UFC was acting irresponsibly by continuing to put on events?

This video is definitely worth a watch

Several in the MMA media have already replied to this, and I agree with them. Basically, Dana White accused the media of saying that the UFC couldn't put on any events during the pandemic, when really the media was criticizing the UFC for unsafe practices during the early phase of the pandemic. White was trying to pull out every trick he could to skirt the CDC guidelines, and it took a phone call from a US Senator to get him to stop. Once they started to conduct the events with safety, implement testing, etc, nobody in the media said anything bad about them.

That's a thing about Dana White that's irritated me a lot over the years; he tries to act like a tough guy by bashing reporters, but he comes off extremely thin-skinned and weak. The guy's a multi-millionaire who might even be worth ten figures now; why does he care about what a bunch of reporters who work for websites think?

Hahahaha. I loved when he said ''who are this people'' and ''what have they ever accomplished'' Dana is hilarious unintentionally when he lets go and releases his inner rage

Why do we have to choose sides?

Media looked out public health
Dana saved sports

Neither side seems like a bad guy to me
That said I enjoy the bickering back and forth

Good for Dana as he thought outside of the box and gave us something to watch throughout the horrible year of 2020.

They clearly was responsible for a few hundred deaths at least.

Some of the initial rumors and pushes Dana made were totally unethical. He really put a negative tough on it early. He was being slimey about it. In my gut, I have a feeling he was just talking that way to get the ball rolling. In the end it worked out. The fact that so many fighters are testing positive and being pulled off events shows you it’s not just smoke and mirrors, they’re really doing the right shit and trying to keep everyone safe. That being said, who knows if we’d have the same result if the media wasn’t there to hold his feet to the fire, right?

He's a typical bully. Likes to put it on media. Dishes it out but can't take it. He's pathetic and he ducks certain people. For instance you'll never see him talk to Luke Thom because he knows he won't kiss his ass.

I can't imagine fight island was easy to pull off.

Dana all the way

As has already been said, the majority of the clips in the video were reactions against the proposed Tachi Palace card. The cancellation of that event is what propelled the UFC to establish Fight Island, implement testing protocols, and ultimately create the infrastructure that made the past year a financial success. In this sense, the initial media criticism was spot on and White ended up taking all of the safety measures they asked for. Why does anyone have to be painted as a villain?

I think a large portion of the criticism was the fact that at the time it seemed irresponsible. Time has proved it was a good decision. So I was leaning towards the media at first but now thanks to the UFC for giving me weekly MMA while nothing else was happening, that rocked. Dana deserves little to no credit, he’s just a mouthpiece. The decision and execution took many many people, we need to stop giving that scumbag credit for company decisions and actions.

yeah while telling small businesses to close while keeping walmart/costco and other GIANT stores open. Makes sense

In other good news, we have DESTROYED the flu this year. Or MAAAAAAAAYBE these fucking morons are counting flu cases as covid cases
There were 36 positive flu tests reported by the CDC last week. Last year in the same week there were 7,703 positive flu tests, and no year in the last 5 had fewer than 320 positive tests. Where’s the media coverage of this statistical anomaly?!
