Does Stipe has an option ?

What leverage UFC have ?

What is UFC' goal ?

Stipe should avoid Ngannou in next 3 fights, from a bussines perspective if he can.

From legacy perspective, he has beaten Ngannou already.

Stipe refuses fights, Stipe gets stripped. There already seems to be a history of conflict between Stipe and Dana. Refusing to fight the top contender, who is also a popular exciting fighter that UFC wants to push, would be a very bad idea for Stipe.

Ngannou attracts more casual fand than Jones and Stipe.

I prefer Stipe vs. Jones tbh and I am usually against champ vs. champ fights. They should be for when both guys only have cleared out their divisions which is the case here.

Ngganou can fight Lewis again or wait.

seems a few of the ufc champions are forced to fight because they would rather not defend the belt.

the entitled champion era is killing the ufc

Thing is, Ngannou - Jones is much more marketable, as is Jones - Stipe.

Jones - Ngannou could be marketed as "Jones facing the most dangerous opponent at HW", and "Stipe - Jones" is obviously champ vs champ.

Ngannou - Stipe is a rematch of a fight that wasn't close.
Jones doesn't want to fight Ngannou, he wants to fight Stipe for a reason. If Ngannou and Stipe rematch and Ngannou wins, Jones will go back to LHW and say something about things didn't work out with his body moving up in weight, etc.

When Stipe was taking more time after his eye injury than the UFC liked, Dana delicately mentioned the possibility of stripping a belt and that seemed to do the trick. Dana seems committed enough to having Ngannou have the next shot that I assume he'd do the same if Stipe refused to face him. But it won't come to that. Stipe never picks and chooses his challengers.

As to why Dana is set on Ngannou...do we really have to look deeper than to say, he is? He wants to see it, therefore he assumes everybody else does too.

No they can not. It’s a fatal safety hazard no court would allow anyone being forced to fight Francis

Dana would happily strip Stipe if he tried to get out of fighting Ngannou. Honestly it's a lose/lose situation for Stipe.

He either fights Ngannou or gets stripped. And if he fights Ngannou, he either gets knocked out and recieves massive amounts of CTE, or beats Ngannou and still receives massive amounts of CTE. And in that outcome, Jones will swoop in and beat him.

Ngannou is the easier fight for Jones.

Also, Jones has a way bigger chance to beat Ngannou

No

What leverage UFC have ?
Stripping him of the belt

What is UFC' goal ?
To have the champion defend his belt vs the number 1 contender and determine the best fighter

The UFC does not make matches based on what is best for the title holder. They make decisions based on what is best for their business

From legacy perspective, he has beaten Ngannou already.
That doesn’t matter to the UFC and champions cannot determine challengers

Stipe will happily fight francis again so this is a pointless thread.

Absolutely not, jones is the biggest draw of the three

he definitely isn't a bigger draw than Jones. Jones is one of the UFC's biggest draws that's why they keep putting up with him screwing up and why they changed the rules on PEDs just for him.

He is fighting Ngannou next but the question is WHEN ? but there are rumors saying that they are fighting in March but nothing is been confirmed yet
