That fight would be a big test to see if Jon Jones really is in the level he think he will be in heavyweight

Predictions if that fight will happen? The longer Jones will be in clinch against Overeem the more trouble he would have but I would go for Jones by tko. However, never count out Overeem

Overeem is one of his worst matchups. But at this stage i wouldn't be suprised if Jones kos him with a kick or elbow. Ubereem would have run through him no doubt though

Reem already alpha'd Jon in training and injured him for his insolence.

That's exactly why I would want to see that.
Jones has no right hand and his left hasn't much power.
He can only highkick the Reem. I don't think his front kick has enough power.
That's why he would get bullied and I want to see that.

I think a 245 lb Jones puts him on his back and makes it a short night's work, but it's tough to say, because Jon's takedown game doesn't seem to be aging well.

Jones is arguably the best fighter ever. He deserves to fight the HW champ for his very first fight. It would be a HUGE money making fight, so why risk that fighting a guy lower in the ratings? I say he fights the Miocic-Nganou winner for the strap.

Why? 100% Jones gets an instant TS like the other champs that move up.

Any other fight makes zero sense
yup, $ talks.
And for Jones, legacy as well.
Other fights make little sense. A "warm up" at HW is always a risk for KO loss and all other plans goes to shit. Not worth the risk.

What you said at the end is the problem. Jones is clearly struggling with this takedowns and even more importantly ... his inability to keep people down once he does.

Smith, Santos on one leg, Reyes ... all defended or got right back up from his takedowns.

Either is age or his pictograms are failing his strength.

I don't think he can hold Overeem down IF he can even get him down.

Reem and him trained together and injured Jon already with his own takedown from what we heard and that was Pre USADA Jones.

Overeem is old but his chin usually fails against a good power puncher. Jones would need a good head kick against one of the best kickers in MMA who matches Jones reach and is probably stronger atm too.

As others said ... bad stylistic match up for Jones.

I am sure Jones' training sessions with HWs like Overeem was why he never really moved up to HW in the past.

They wont be letting jon fight reem. Dana knows thats a shit matchup for jones. It'll be Old stipe or one of the fatasses.

lol at UFC letting Jon fight mf'ing Overeem. They see big dollars in Jon vs the Champ in a Title Fight they aren't risking a loss.
