Do you prefer the cards on TV to have a crowd?

Do you prefer the energy of the crowds or the crisp sound of an empty arena?

Posted this about a month into the pandemic, curious to see if 6 months later if any minds have changed.

I have gone from slightly preferring to greatly preferring cards without a crowd. Not that a crowd would ruin my experience, and I want them to make money but... If money wasnt an issue i'd rather watch crowdless. Love clearly hearing the corners and the punches and kicks connect.

Every fight feels a little extra lame with no crowd tbh. Hearing Holland's trash talk is nice and all but it definitely takes something out of it

I'm indifferent, I don't really care but that's not to say there isn't cool shit about both for example hearing the corner's and not hearing wooooooooo 8 thousand times, but at the same time it's cool to hear the crowd to name just a few things. It all evens out for me.

Out of all the sports MMA crowds are the least missed for me personally. It's nice to hear the crowd reaction to hype moments but then you'll also get thes booing anytime there's a takedown. But one thing I don't want to see is those fake crowd sounds that these other sports are doing. I can't stand that.

I much prefer it without a crowd. Crowds are pretty annoying and I get hyped up enough as it is, so I don't really need to feed off their positive energy.

I enjoy the fights a lot more and I feel like I can focus better on the actual fight when there's no crowd.

I want the crowds to return, but these crowd-less cards have been cool in their own way. Wouldn't mind if they mixed it up in the future.

MMA is part sport and part spectacle, and good or bad a crowd contributes to the production imo. Both have their pros and cons, but if I had to pick I would rather watch the fights with a crowd. It's kind of weird watching a highly anticipated PPV taking place in an atmosphere similar to a Spike TV TUF episode.

I can't imagine they will, the loss of live gates are just too much. So I think this will just go down as a special era in the sport.

Just like in my personal life I like whatever I don’t have at the time. If I have a blonde, I want a brunette....so on and so forth.

I'm sure it has something to do with the level of a fan of the sport you actually are. Basketball was near unwatchable for me without the crowd. Baseball made literally zero difference to me. Football doesn't really matter to me and I don't mind the fake crowd noise that you hate. Fake pro wrestling was unwatchable for the first month and a half till they figured out to start putting other wrestlers in the first two rows of the crowd to make noise.

So really an amazing sport that I think is better as a result. All other sports are a mixture of indifferent or worse

This is true. I read that the loss of the live gate will cost the UFC somewhere around 100 million dollars this year.
