As a non-American I have always been really fascinated with how ego centric the society is. The fact that the majority of governmental leadership (including Biden) would vote against medicare for all yet live off a public supplied policy perhaps best illustrates the lunacy.

Fighters have to train with others, the number of fighters (and their entire teams) that have tested positive means fight promotion is not a zero sum game. I understand that it could be suggested no one got covid from a fight, but come on now....

This video is exactly why the UFC will never come close to any of the major sports organizations with Dana in charge.

Dana's ego means more to him than anything. Guy can't get out of his own way even when he makes significant progress.

Dana did help people keep their jobs.
Himself and the UFC executives. Doesn't give a shit about anyone else and that has been my viewpoint for over a decade now. By the way, didn't he just say he's cutting a lot of the roster?

I agree with your assessment of Dana and the video. Don’t agree with the healthcare one. While something needs to done but I’m not sure what it is. Maybe it is Medicare for all but I’ve dealt with the social programs in this country. Not exactly wonderful. Things have gone absolutely bonkers in healthcare costs here. 17 years ago we had our first kid. The cost from the time she found out she was pregnant to the time we left the hospital with our daughter was $200. We had a lower premium and no deductible. 6 years ago our last child was born. This time with deductible and higher premiums the cost of the birth was $3k. Whatever we were doing before I would like to get back to.

Not that Canada's health care system is perfect (at all), but it doesn't cost any money here to have a baby. Of course having kids is a massive expense, but to physically have them in a hospital doesn't have a price tag up here (or prenatal appointments and whatnot).

If you are going to fault Dana and the UFC, then you are going to have to fault every other major professional sports league, because the UFC were the first ones to put on events during this bullshit; and after it was a success all of the other leagues followed suit and copied their (the UFC's) pandemic model.

The UFC has also lost $100 million in revenue due to not having a live gate. If anything they should get praise for letting their athletes work during this.
