Lets get the facts down first Khamzat runs thru wonderboy but the question is for how long would he survive against the pressure and onslaught of GOATmaev. I won't be surprised if Khamzat was able to put him away very quickly within the first round.

The fight would stay standing for a maximum of 15 seconds.

Chimaev could even sleep him early if he connects. Chimaev is to fast for someone whos using footwork in and outside tactics but most likely he will be completely gassed within 1st round and finished within 1st round by just being grinded and smeshed while being held down

Wonder Boy has proven himself against elite competition Khamzat hasn't. This isn't really a fair assessment until Khamzat starts facing top guys.

Chimaev has fought opponents much better then Wonderboy but just not on paper or famous. Like that Sambo champ he fought is atleast 4 times better then Wonderboy and his decorated. Just based on style and his ability. If Chimaev vs Wonderboy were to happen today both I and the bookmakers would have Chimaev as the favourite because his simply the better fighter based on his skillset and style

Wonderboy has elite TDD (though hard to assess based on last night - Neal was not a takedown threat)

He also elite footwork and movement and elite kicks. Khamzat would get blasted if he tries to rush in.

Whether he could Thompson's kicks and turn them into a TD or discourage WB from throwing them at all is an interesting question

I didn't really want to see Khamzat-WB but last night's performance made me want to see it. WB just looked so sharp

I like Khamzat and think he runs through Wonderboy but let's not get too crazy here. WB is legit.

I'm not trying to discredit your boyfriend here as Chimaev is a tank and a hot prospect, but he still needs to beat ranked fighters before you can make those kind of statements. Chimaev has not been in there with better competition Wonderboy. Sambo isn't MMA. It's all subjective until you actually beat ranked fighters. That's how this works.

That sambo world champ is an MMA fighter and he was undefeated fighter but Chimaev smeshed him anyways. Wonderboy is not his toughest competition WB is just a name nothing more or less.

It doesn't work like that for me. I have seen enough to know that he smeshes Wonderboy with certainity and been watching MMA for over a decade

You where thought Neal would beat Wonderboy as well, so you obviously underestimate Wonderboy's level. Also, why would Thompson be interested in a guy that will come off a loss in a few months?

Wonderboy has wins over...

Robert Whitaker (Former MW champ)
Rory McDonald (Former WW #1 Contender)
Patric Cote (Former MW #1 Conteneder)
Johnny Hendricks (Former WW Champion)
Jorge Masvidal (Former WW #1 Contender)

He also has two fights against Tyron Woodley that he could have easily gotten the nod for. I'm not saying Chimaev doesn't have a chance, as it's very possible he could run right through Thompson, but he hasn't fought anybody ranked. Plus Wonderboy has proven to be a problem for high level grapplers in the past.
