Time for Wonderboy to fight a top contender?

He was the number one contender during the Woodley era. Somehow the welterweight top 5 got filled with wrestleboxers without any of them having to get through him. Styles make fights and I'd love to see him fight Usman, Colby or Leon. He's about to turn 38 so time is ticking.

If Leon beats Khamzat, Leon/Wonderboy is the fight. I know Leon's gonna think he deserves a title shot, and he maybe does, but there's still such a logjam at the top that I don't know if it's gonna happen. Leon still doesn't have a W over a top WW contender (and that won't change with a win over Khamzat), so I think it makes perfect sense to match him up with Wonderboy and see if he's truly championship level.

I expect there is zero chance Masvidal is willing to fight Wonderboy again but it would certainly help him make a case for moving towards a title shot.

I like WB and just wish he's pulled the trigger a bit more against Woodley. That was his chance. A huge wrestler who's 7 years younger with great cardio and a great chin is just too tall of an order for him now....he's not far from age 40.

Wonderboy is nearing 38 and the wrestleboxers in the top 5 haven't fought anyone like him before. I don't think the UFC should waste his remaining fights on dudes outside the top 5.

Keep in mind his only definitive loss in 8 years is to another striker. I want to see him fight Usman and Colby. He has far better striking than them and we've never seen him get blanketed before.

I feel Wonderboy is one of those fighters who could touch the belt even later in his career. I think Colby and Usman are nightmares for him. He doesn't ever really fight wrestlers. I cant believe in his TDD until I see it against a wrestler. I agree on the striking, Im worried Usman will foot stomp him to a decision. I want to see how he deals with Colbys pressure and awkward style. I wanna see it after Colby embarrasses Street Judas.

WB needs to be calling for a TS now. Make an attempt to jump the line in front of Burns. If not be may be sitting and waiting for a while. After Burns the winner of Edwards/Khazmat will probably get a shot then after that it will be super hard to deny Colby another shot of her beats Masdival.

WB needs to gather up all the leverage he has and make a move now shot the title.

His only legit losses are to Matt Brown and Pettis. I think he edged the Till fight and he was robbed both times against Woodley.
