Hardy is an example of why so-called 'A' level NFL athletes cannot be great at MMA.

They have insane strength and explosive power, great athletic talents. It's enough to make them 'decent'. But they lack the athleticism required to be good or great.

Their strength and power come at a cost: NO CARDIO.

Good cardio is essential to being good/great at MMA.

Debate over.

Yeah now that I think about it MMA fighters do have the best cardio ever. I mean how many fights do we see MMA fighters gas? Almost never. I mean DC can probably do triathlons right off the couch

Hardy is still comin' after that HW strap.

Why so mma fans have such small dick energy when it comes to talking about other sports' athletes? Are you people picked on by fans of regular team-sports?
Nah dude, we're just sick and tired of Derrick Lewis and Roy Nelson not getting mentioned as some of the greatest athletes in the world

i thought you needed cardio for american football but according to everyone on here the matches are short

For one thing, he's trying to fight at his football weight, should probably lose 30 lbs. But at the same time that will reduce the huge strength advantage he seems to have over most of these guys, which is a huge part of his counter wrestling.

Hardy has been getting better and better and still has a ton of potential

He got beat tonight by a fighter with a lot more experience and better grappling

Hardy still has a very high ceiling imo.

I mean they have different positions that require different levels of cardio. Hardy was a D-lineman, only idiot ass MMA fans think that he would automatically have good cardio because he was in the NFL. It's like saying a Goalie and a Forward in soccer are expected to have equal levels of cardio lmao. Stupid

I dont think so. It'll be tough for him to get his grappling up to snuff to compete with the top guys. The strikers like Lewis, Ngannou, Roz, Reem, etc smoke him standing. I think Hardy won't be around much longer.
