I know they try to force WMMA on every main card but I thought shit like this is where they draw the line.

That such a low quality fight is on the main when there are better options on the prelims would be my guess. Equally if had to be on the main why it wasn't the curtain raiser could be another legit question.

My guess is the UFC wants to have a balance of different weight classes mixed throughout the night and at least one WMMA on the main card.

It's curious former champ Anthony Pettis is on the prelims but it's a WW fight and there are already 2 other WW fights on the main card.

I would also guess the UFC wants to put an interesting fight or two on the prelims so that people will be motivated to tune in earlier.
