HW is thinAnd fun part of this is that he only started muay thai at 24, for fun. Never trained any combat sport before.
3 years later he beats the WBC super HW champion.
Early 2018, he starts training MMA..
Late 2020, ranked #7 in the UFC.
Yeah he started as a LHW in muay thai (201lbs division). He looked slower and heavier in the cage... Did he put in weight?

Facts. And people still thinking taller fighters can't be athletic and explosive. Gane 6'5'' is prime example that it's due to their training and type of training they do and not because of their height and weight.
Gane is light on his feet and bounces around the cage. This is a good example of what A-Level at that height and weight can can be capable of with proper training.
His striking defense stat is at 73% and his strikes differential ratio is close to 3. He outstruck JdS 59 to 10.Gane is a good fighter but you guys are gonna get him killed matching him with Ngannou, his striking defense is still lacking. If you just let him kickbox you at range, yea he'll look pretty but I noticed some pretty big exploitable weaknesses in his last fight.
It’s HW so it’s certainly a possibility but what makes you think he has poor fight IQ? In all of his fights he’s displayed pretty air tight strategy. The way he used his kicks to offset JDS’s boxing was damn near perfect.Something about Gane makes me think he's extremely athletic, but a low IQ fighter. I see him getting KOd soon enough.
