“They were sticking their necks out for me. These aren’t fans, they’re fighters. Jorge (Masvidal), Nate (Diaz), Dustin (Poirier), Justin (Gaethje), the list goes on. Even Ali (Abdelaziz) and the Kawas. All these guys cannot agree on what color the sky is, but they agreed on one thing that night.”

you and max both have cte i guess. max lost that fight plain as day, how anyone could score round 3 for max is beyond me.

3,4,5 Volk. You can't seem to see that it was a fine decision. How many threads have you made about this?

And the people thinking he won the first are just plain delusional. There is an argument for the second, but the first was a 50/45 or a 49/46 at best. A complete shutout.

Holloway lost both fights, it was not even particularly close, but the incredibly biased commentary of Rogan & Cormier created a false narrative Max somehow did enough to win those fights and was robbed.

Watch the second fight without the commentary, and you will see Max and Volkanovski go blow for blow the first two rounds before max noticeably slows down in the third round.

By the end of the third round Volkanovski is landing twice as many shots as Max. Then in the fourth and fifth Volkanovski is dominant out-landing max and out-throwing max noticeably and takes him down both rounds.

Volkanovski also noticeably has far more power, is putting out combos, while Max is throwing shots to the body every 30 seconds. Max clearly was tired and Volkanovski wanted it (to win) far more.

lets say you award Max the first two rounds even though they are going blow for blow and totally even, what other round can Holloway even pretend he won he was getting lit up the last three rounds.

Move up to Lightweight, you're not 19 anymore.

The bulk of the MMA media had Holloway winning.

Also didn't Volk compete in rugby at north of 200 pounds? Maybe he should be looking at heavier weight classes.

I don't really give a shit about Volk but thought he clearly won the 1st fight, thus not needing a rematch.

Rematch was a lot closer. Arguable Volk won IMO. The last 3 rounds he outstruck Max.

The judges agreed on all rounds except 1 judge thought Max somehow won the 5th...

I think max took it, but it was a close fight unlike the first which was a blow out. It would be kind of shitty to take the belt away from the only guy between them that had a dominant fight. Also it would of probably warranted a rematch. The 145lb division can't be held up like what happened with the HW division. Max should have finished or blew Volk out.
