Not that he sucked in terms of skills, but it exposed him to be nothing but a point fighter in comparison. If MM was fighting Moreno he would just stick to jabs, lowkicks and double leg lay and prays just to rack up points.

Not so with figeuredo, he was doing very well just pumping out his jab but instead he took risks and left himself open while trying to finish Moreno at many occasions.

This gave us a great fight that was more entertaining than all of MM’s squash matches combined. MM did have finishes but only when his outmatched opponents had surrendered basically and wanted out.

dont even get me started on DJ’s lack of personality or unwillingness to market himself.

Yea but dj would have beaten both of them. And by the way dana basically confirmed in his post fight press conference that the UFC went away from trying to have the best 125 lb fighters in the world to now just trying to have the most entertaining 125ers instead

That's not a very smart thing to say. DJ is an all-time great and likely beats Fig and Moreno without too much trouble. And that's not taking anything away from those two guys, they're awesome. But Mighty Mouse is just on a different level with his fluidity, fight IQ, defense, and all-around skills.

Maybe, maybe not, figeuredo has better BJJ than MM and way better boxing. It would only take one shot for him to take the mouse’s ears off.

DJ was a finisher lol did you not watch his career?
His fights weren't as exciting because there was never any back and forth, he just utterly dismantled everyone.

He did finish guys but they were bums who had already conceded defeat. My point was that he never risked victory for a finish unlike figeuredo who always does.

The guy who won a fight by submission with like a second left to go in a fight he was already winning is a point fighter now?

I don't know if you're just insecure that a guy his size can be so good at fighting, or if you're just salty he beat your favorite FLW, or what your issue is. Before he lost the split decision to Cejudo, he had won 3 of his previous 4 fights by stoppage. That's not "point fighting" no matter how hard you try to say otherwise

Smart. I dont really care who is "the best" at a weight division like flyweight. Last nights fight was great, with the exception of round 5. Both guys emptied their tank during 4 and Moreno couldn't use his left arm so its understandable.

He accidentally stumbled upon a finish while gathering points.
