Dos Santos
Jacare
Ferguson

All three are in their late 30s (or 40 in Jacare's case), and have taken a tonne of damage over the past couple of fights.

I think Dos Santos and Jacare need to seriously consider hanging their gloves up - they have done so much, for so long, they will forever be remembered as some of the greatest to ever do it.

I think Ferguson still has gas in the tank, but he came back too quickly after the Gaethji fight. To see him get out grappled and outworked was insane - I thought there was a chance of him losing, but on the feet.

Oliveira is such a beast and finally realizing his potential. I remember when he first came onto the scene that he was being hyped as a future champion... and then he got knee barred by Jim Miller. Alternating wins and losses made him seem like a talented but inconsistent fighter, but God damn has that guy flipped a switch. It's crazy to think he is only 31, considering he had his first match in the UFC in 2010. I think he would be favored against any 155lber outside of Gaethji right about now (and even then, he would give Justin fits on the ground and on the feet).

Great card, but I am genuinely bummed out that three fan favorites lost. Father time remains undefeated.

He'd just lift gaethje up and throw him over the cage at this rate.

Edit: Du Bronx that is sorry

Clearly this was not the same Jacare who raped Mousasi all over the mat in 2014.

Everyone gets old, unfortunately.

The Jacare one was the toughest to see because the way Holland won was something he never would have done 5 years ago. It was just rough.

Yeah it was a rough nights for me. I watched Jacare compete in the mundials and adcc. I’m a huge Tony fan. I knew years ago that Tony was fighting on borrowed time. Unlike with Justin, he had nothing tonight. At times it looked like he just wanted out, but his pride wouldn’t let him quit

I’ll always love them both. Hope they have a great life from here. Fighting at this level is behind them now

Putting Ferguson in the same boat as Dos Santos and Jacare is a little pre-mature

Dos Santos is 6-8 in his last 14
Jacare is is 4-6 in his last 10

Ferg is 12-2 in his last 14

bit of a difference.

Missed the fights had to look up the JDS loss didn't even realize he was on the card..

Long story short:

JDS needs to hang it up keeps losing in humiliating fashion
Tony is done as a top fighter
Jacare is like 100 years old

It hits me hard too. That guy really had the UFC working against him gettin a title shot, and he really did fight alot of tough fights.

He was supposed to open a BJJ academy recently. In covid times? fuck.

Def but Ferg took a JDS/Cain level beating against Justin. Cant just dust that one off, ever.

How can you pass a torch to a 30 year old that has alot more fights than you...
Charles is more of a veteran than tony.

JDS has been on a 3 loss streak and this is his 4th, thats not a torch pass. The first 3 took his torch, lighter, and pocket watch.

I’ll allow the jacare one. Not a bad choice to call a torch pass.

He looks slow and his time has past him sadly. His made a good effort to get back the spark but isn't getting any better. The way he finished that fight says he really shouldn't fight again.

JDS also shouldn't fight in the UFC again (and should retire). He said he thinks he can still win belt. He has zero chance now. Even if went on an unreal win streak his years away from a shot with so many people already making a case for a shot in that division. I pray UFC doesn't give JDS to Jones as a warm up.

What would 5-years-younger Jacare have done to prevent getting KO'd by punches from the bottom?

Tony seemed pretty low energy in his interviews leading up to the fight and he seemed very slow from the start of the fight. Either he needs to revitalize in some way in a serious manner or he just lost a step or two, in which case it would probably be best he'd retire, but we know he won't.

JDS is done.
Jacare has fallen off, but could still beat some lower ranked guys.
Tony is still a top 5 fighter in his weight class, Oliveira has just become that good.

In first round Tony got clipped and then looked away for a second. I think he's suffering from CTE and needs a long lay off.

But since Tony is already 37, a one year lay off will make him 38.

Dos Santos hasnt had a torch to pass anyone for many years.
