There was a thread here recently that listed reasons to why the TS doesn't like Tony Ferguson. He starts his reasonings with, "I know I'm going to get publicly executed within next few minutes." I thought to myself, "Nah, the only people you get 'publicly executed' for criticizing is Khabib and his fans." And I think I'm going to go after the latter in light of all the threads being posted here from Khabib fans in regards to the Tony vs Oliveira fight.
Whenever Khabib fans defend or criticize another fighter, it serves the purpose to make Khabib look good. It all depends on the situation. If his past opponent has a good fight, then it's time to make it about the eagle and how he dominated that fighter. When the talk shifts into a discussion about who is the top p4p fighter, they lionize that same fighter they just trashed. Now I can't deny that other fans do this too but let's be real, it's the frequency that makes it fucking annoying. If you don't believe me, check out the first three pages of UFC discussion.
Do you know what irritates me more though? The fact that they go after Conor and his fans whenever Conor makes a tweet in response to a recent fight. "Don't make this about you," is what they all say. I mean how the hell do they criticize someone for what they are the most guilty of. Of course, if you confront them about it, you're going to get some answer that basically means, "Circumstances were different."
Does anyone feel the same way?
