The state of jds's chin

I love JDS he is one of my all time.favorites. his rise in the ufc was one of the most exciting times I can remember. I just don't see his chin holding up against gane. I don't think this fight ends well for him unless he sticks and moves. This seems like a terrible fight for him I'd rather he fight a wrestler and get smothered than watch him get KO'd. P4p one of the nicest guys in the sport. War cigano.

The way he fights.. not composed, just jumping right in front of his opponent without any defense when he attacks.. JDS’s chin is not what it used to be, however he’s got amazing speed.. I think gane will be knocked out quickly.

Absolutely his rise imo was the most exciting time in the HW division along with his very likeable personality my mom even loved him...really hoped he would have smashed Cain the second time and become the HW GOAT. However with all the wars he has been in I do not see him breaking top 10 again unfortunately.

The problem for JDS more than his chin and defensive holes is his hesitation and becoming gun shy. If you watch fights with Rozenstruick and Blaydes, he was landing shots but he wasn't throwing at the power he's known for and you can see hesitation to commit to a power shot. He's scared to get hit now and that's why he can't land those shots that end fights. The Ngannou fight is a prime example, he threw that overhand right way out of range. He can still win fights just outpointing opponents, but the longer it stays standing, the more he exposes his chin that's gone down. Rozenstrick again, prime example, a fight he was clearly winning and then one shot and good night.

When was the last time jds even hurt someone with a strike let alone got a knockdown? And you say ez ko.

I see Gane styling on JDS. Even though his chin is shot, JDS still has the skills to get the upper hand against a lot of HWs, but is ultimately at the mercy of his chin, which doesn't need too much these days to crack.

But I don't see JDS's skills being applicable to the Gane fight. I genuinely think Gane is much more well rounded as an MMA fighter, so in other words, I don't see how JDS wins barring a lucky punch. He's gonna get styled on, and even though Gane hasn't demonstrated (yet) that he has big power, I still think he might stop JDS via strikes.

I think his best path to win is to clinch JDS and use his size to impose his will. JDS can still be dangerous at range with his kicks. He tends to fall in love with his overhands too much and that could cost him too. Not sure if I can see JDS getting submitted here.
