People forgot that Weidman completely dominated silva in their second fight.

Anything can happen if Silva didn't break his leg, we seen fighter get drop the first round and came back to win the fight...The punch landed right on his ear area, which fk his equilibrium, thats why he lost balance. Chael also dominated Silva the first round and got owned the 2nd round...

I still think Silva would have won that fight if he didn't break his leg.

i dont think real fans forget, its the delusional silva nuthuggers who dont want to remember. im a fan of both. chris dominated both fights rather comfortably

Who forgot?

Anyway, Silva was 38 by that time and had already had a long career where as Weidman was 29.

To put it further in perspective, Weidman is still younger than Silva was when they fought the 2nd time.

I bet Weidman spent the entire training camp just practicing checking leg kicks, after getting his leg kicked bad in the first fight

He dominated Silva so much that not only did he break his leg, he also knocked Silva out again

The uppercut to the body was solid, much more so than the following hook that glanced and dropped Anderson. I never remembered that sequence due to the way the fight ended.

Sure, Silva was 38 but he took hardly any damage in his career up to that point. He also looked spectacular the year before when he dominated Bonnar and Sonnen in spectacular fashion. Even at 45 Silva still looked good for his age against Hall.

He hardly took damage? Have you seen the way he spars? Training and competing as champion for years is a grind that takes its toll. Plus you don't spar lightly at Chute Boxe and regardless of the damage you've taken, you're not the same at 38 as you were a few years ago. He'd been slipping for a while. He was just still talented enough to beat those guys.

People watched his fight with Bonnar and said "wow". I said he was going to get hurt against Weidman. He was being much more reckless. It used to be for show but then he relied on it to create openings when his reflexes/speed started to slow down. He didn't need to do this before. He was able to fight very well offensively.

First round Silva defended Weidmans TD attempt. Secured the clinch but got dropped by a nice right hook. He recovered and defended himself well off of his back.

Second he was moving around on the feet like he normally does. Then breaks his leg.

Years later...

"Weidman completely destroyed him bro!"

I honestly feel bad for Weidman fans at this point. All they have is a gimme win over a past his prime legend to hang onto.

Because we all know the leg break was a freak accident. The Chris might very well be apart of that 60 fighter group Dana was talking about.

Are you blind?
