I'll start with Zabit. He spent his childhood going to kung fu school instead of normal school. He is a Kung Fu master, being given the title of Master of Sport in Sanda.
He doesn't really train kung fu.Roy Nelson
Everyone dissed kung fu for decades. Now all these Russian fighters from places like Dagestan are bringing it back and dominating the highest levels of the UFC with it. Very interesting.Muslim Salikhov is the King of Kung Fu

It is his style. He did grades 1-12 at a sanda boarding school where he trained 3 times a day.He mixes kung fu with his overall style. Sanda is an effective striking style because they actually practice full contact and compete with takedowns (just no grappling). His western boxing is lacking though and that is his weakness - that's why he was able to get walked down by Bochniak.
Kung Fu moves work, just like tae kwon do/karate moves work. It all depends on using the right technique at the right time and the person's skillset in being able to do the technique in a full contact/combat setting. It's just most people don't practice those styles or techniques so most people don't think they can work. Even though there's all these spin kick KO, you still don't see many fighters using that technique.Everyone dissed kung fu for decades.
