I remember him announcing this before the BMF fight and getting no reaction from the audience (probably had no idea who he was) and was wondering if anything has come of it? A quick search has yielded no results.

Edit - FFS my phone auto corrected Kerr to Kerry.

Who plays Ice Cold Igor

Or are they going to conveniently leave that part out?

The Rock wants to be an mma fighter so bad. This isn't a tribute to Mark Kerr, it's a tribute to Dwayne Johnsons ego lol.

You couldn't be more wrong...the rocks true love is wrestling, i have his 3 disc biography the wwe released when he came back to face john cena and it tells his whole story and the way he talks about the WWF its clear he loves that more then even movies..which is his passion too

I think its cool he wants to play MMA fighter , and such a dramatic story like Kerrs too...should be interesting if they do it right hopefully its more a dramatic piece then Never back down

Yeah, the timing isn't good. The latest this might have worked would've been 10-12 years ago when Kerr was in his final MMA days. Lesnar was also fighting then and similar to Kerr in some ways (huge, muscular HW wrestler). I don't think enough people remember or relate to Kerr now.

I got the feeling he was definitely passionate about this project himself but also gravely misjudged the amount of traction it would get. It literally got zero traction.

Wouldn't be surprised if it comes out that "obstacles" came up and there will be no movie

I hope we'll see Fedor Emelianenky in it.

I hope the movie still goes through. I'm not extremely familiar with Kerr, but if the Rock can do his story justice, then it might help lift MMA as a whole. Besides, it would be nice to have an actual MMA movie, and not "Never Back Down 15: Never Back Downest".
