Going to keep adding to this list, so far I'm starting with the fighters I know have the most top 10 wins at HW and working my way down. I will keep the format so that the fewest wins are listed first.

Edit 1: Mir, Cro Cop and Ngannou make the list.
Mark Coleman(1), Alexander Volkov(1), Travis Browne(2), Kevin Randleman(2), Shane Carwin(2), Mark Hunt(2), Curtis Blaydes(3), Tim Sylvia(3), Derrick Lewis(3), Jairzinho Rozenstruik(3), Bigfoot Silva(3) don't make the list.

Edit 2: Brock Lesnar made the list, I mistakenly thought that Herring wasn't listed in the top 10 by Fightmatrix.

I think at this point i'm done with this list though I might see if Bas Rutten, Pedro Rizzo and Ricco Rodriguez make the 4 or more top 10 wins cut later on one last edit.

JDS also has a win over Stipe in 2014 (ranked 9th when they fought).

Where's Cain for Werdums wins? I'm surprised Aleks wasn't top 10 for Werdum either after beating Sergei. Speaking of he doesn't show up for Nogs wins either
Fight Matrix didn't rank Cain due to inactivity. Aleks was just outside the top 10.

These are based on fightmatrix. Stipe was like 11th.

Why does Fedor get to have mark coleman counted 2x? Don't care where he was ranked at the time it's the same fucking guy and babalu wasn't a HW, Brett rogers was ranked #8 in the world? I find that hard to believe as well as mark hunt being #7 at the time he fought Fedor too.

In 2006 Kazuhiro Nakamura was ranked 6th best HW in the world? Am I reading this right?

Rogers was 10-0 and just knocked out Arlovski in 20 seconds who was top 5 in the world. He was pretty easily a top 10 guy

Hunt was 5-2 and had wins over Wand (ended his streak), Mirko and TK

Crop Cop?

1. Kazuyuki Fujita
2. Kazuyuki Fujita
3. Heath Herring
4. Igor Vovchanchyn
5. Josh Barnett
6. Kevin Randleman
7. Josh Barnett
8. Wanderlei Silva
9. Josh Barnett

Coleman?

Babalu was a HW when he started MMA and Coleman was ranked when he fought Fedor both times according to fightmatrix generated historical rankings. You can check the criteria yourself if you want to but it will show what I posted.

I only used fightmatrix historical rankings like I said in the title of the thread.

Sergei was in the 11-14 range for a lot of the times I looked up.

Interesting list. More solid evidence Fedor is the goat HW, if not THE. Frank Mir seems higher in my head but I understand the criteria you’ve used.
Thanks TS

Yeah, I don't think fightmatrix is the most accurate but unfortunately most media rankings don't have good archives so it's pretty much the only site you can use for this sort of thing unless you want to spend like 20+ hours doing research.

Appreciate the work, interesting read. So that list is what it is, if anyone wants to put in the leg work to get this from a different source then crack on. To critique individual placements because you don’t agree with them is pointless, it’s what it is.

Pretty much, it is a shame that the most top 10 wins thread that used to exist on here got deleted when the forums got updated years ago. It was more accurate than this list I made but I'm sure the person that made it spent a lot of time gathering all the source rankings.
