According to Jan, Glover is a good fight for him on paper while Israel's tricky style, on paper, would likely be more challenging.

What are your opinions?

I mean considering what Glover did to Thiago vs what Izzy did to Costa who essentially cuts weight to avoid guys like Glover and Thiago.

The answer should be obvious but we still have no data on how well Izzy will do inside the octagon vs guys 20 lbs heavier.

I think the more pertinent question will be would Izzy be more inclined to move up and fight Jan who will be more likely to stand and bang or Glover who will look to take it to the ground

I think Glover is a tougher fight for Jan than Izzy. I just have a very difficult time picturing Jan just standing there letting Izzy style on him for 5 rounds. Izzy is able to do that to guys at middleweight, but Jan is a really big 205er, and I can't picture him being very fazed.

Glover on the other hand has shown that he can eat big shots from light-heavyweights, and his top control might be the best in the division atm. Getting Jan down might be tough, but therein lies the fight.

This isnt even a debate ( as a disclaimer- the fight still has to be fought and anything can happen).
The people in Nevada have izz as a - 260 favorite over jan while Jan would be a -260 favorite over Glover. Nothing against Glover but hes in a good position because of the state of the current UFC 205 landscape.

I like Glover and all but Adesanya is clearly the bigger challenge at this stage in their careers. Adesanya has 100 fights between kickboxing and MMA and is the reigning MW champ coming off a dominant victory over an undefeated challenger. Hard to say Glover is a bigger challenger than that.

Glover is a though one, you never can count him out it seems.
The guy knows all the tricks and always come with a plan while israël is all about his style and will keep it standing whatever happens.
Sure Glover is a bigger challenge imo

People are gonna have their feelings truly hurt when Izzy fights someone who won't just try and stand with him. I don't think Jan will have a problem with Glover bc Jan is a legit black belt in jj. Glover would absolutely be a problem for izzy. Thiago is f'n huge, and Glover rag dolled him on the ground. having said that, I DO NOT WANT GLOVER TO FIGHT IZZY AND WIN. that would be a complete bummer having him win the title.

Glover too slow and Jan matches up well with him. Izzy going to be too much for him on the feet.

I think this is the right position, from a win/lose perspective. That said, Glover may be "tougher" to fight.

Jan is not going to be breathing hard fighting Izzy. He is going to be winging shots and flinching as he tries to determine what is an attack and what is a feint. Eventually, he will likely get KO'd by a shot he did not see.

On the other hand, there is a good chance that Jan gets touched up and does a bit of heavy breathing on his way to knocking out Glover or being caught in a submission!

Tex, I’m convinced Izzy gets KO’d at LHW like Rockhold and Weidman.

People say Glover is too slow every single time. Then he gets on top and turns them into untecognizable carcasses and/or submits 'em.
Old man strength vs polish power... Great stuff IMO

True but man do you have to give Glover his due, who thought that guy would be anywhere near the title again after getting finished by Gustafsson and losing to Corey Anderson, I sure as shit didn't.

And years before that, Glover was losing to Rumble and Phil Davis. He's having a nice resurgence, but he's not an elite LHW right now...at least not compared to the best LHWs historically.

yes, but we should carry on doubting Glover and disregarding his skills until he wins the belt. we shouldn't start giving him props now just in case it interrupts this momentum
