Whilst I can see the rationale behind the argument that Mighty Mouse would outclass him, I really think Deiveson Figueiredo has the perfect combination of skill, power and size to beat Mighty Mouse. Whatever Mighty Mouse chooses to do, he's under threat from a counter-repost from Deiveson (be it on the mat or standing), and I could totally see DJ getting totally overpowered in this hypothetical match up.

What do you all think?

I think it would be one hell of a match-up. Truly, I don't know how I'd go on that one but I'd sure love to see it. Gun to my head, MM.

I still think the first truly capable guy to drag Fig to deep waters is going to drown him but the first step is to survive his early explosions. He reminds me of pre-RDA Pettis. Excellent fighter but vulnerable to guys who can put it all together.

I would say MM 70/30 atm.

There’s a reason Mouse ducked guys like Dillasnake and opted to fight the Ray Borgs of the UFC. Mighty Mouse struggled against guy like Tim Elliot and Dodson lol... the sport has passed him by.

This is Figs time in the FLW division. He’s the new gold standard.

Deiveson - too complete- too monstrous.
A man amongst boys.

....and I love DJ - thought politics gave cejudo re match.

People will disagree with me but the improvement to his game and the brutality of it reminds of when Anderson Silva brutalized Rich, then the re match - then the rest is history.
Of course, Figgy has some work to do but who on the current 125 roster beats him ?

They're going to have to find someone at 135 who's comfortable with the cut and ready to commit to 125.

Having Moreno fight figgy and get humiliated on a quick turnaround sounds ok ....but is it really ?

Prime DJ pretty much dominates prime Figueiredo imo, Johnson’s insane fight IQ and impeccable timing would make it quite one sided.

As of now I could see Figueiredo being the betting favourite and just being aggressive and physical enough to put dents in DJ. So if this was to happen next year Figueiredo would be my slight favourite all things considered.

It is crazy how short a memory this forum has though, forgetting just how unstoppable DJ was for many years.

DJ is on that Vitor rejuvenation therapy. Figgy turns him into a bobble head

I remember dj struggling with Tim Elliot in the standup. I think if it stayed standing fig would be too much

I don't think DJ is training quite as hard as he was when he was in the UFC and is kind of just going through the motions and cashing out right now.

I think prime MM has too many tools for Figgy though.
This sounds about right to me.

It’s a TUF matchup to pick, even with MM being half out of the sport. The gap in class between MM, Fig, CCC and everyone else at 125 is a gulf. We could very well reasonably see it where Figgy Fig has nothing for MM and CCC or vice-versa because they run game on pretty much anyone else they fight at this point.

I definitely would not put much weight on MM looking mortal in fights here or there either. He essentially treated his championship reign like a development process and worked out skills in the cage.

maybe dana will trade askren back so we can see for ourselves

Figueiredo is the only flw i'd ever pick against johnson but only if the match up were today
