When does it become reprehensible to still let Shogun fight?

He is an old, hardcore warrior but a little too much for his own good.
Seriously he is so shot, I pitty him. He can't speak properly anymore, he is very slow, no cardio, he was defeated as soon as the fight started. This man has no business fighting anymore and I find it borderline criminal to still let him.

Seriously please cut him or have him retire.

Still 5-1-2 in his last 8. A better recent record than about 80% of the roster.

He's shot but still has fight in him. He's not getting starched very often.

He needs to stop for the well being of the rest of his life.

Seriously it blows my mind that he can get a licence in the first place. The CTE is so heavy on him that he is starting to even look a bit challenged.

My fear would be if he was cut he'd still fight in lower organisations or bare knuckle and wouldn't be checked over medically as much ,as often as ufc does.

Horrible as it sounds its probably safer to keep fighting in the ufc till he retires imo.

Hope he hangs em up myself

When does another man have the right to tell another man when and when he can't have a fight?

A transgender man with bald head can tell him no. Pls Stahp

As a side note didn't his brother ninja retire due to brain damage like 15 years ago

I think he did not call it a day because he has been winning a lot and was 5-1 in his last 6 UFC fights before lastnight, but after lastnight I think its time to have a serious talk

Even though he was 5-1 before tonight he didn't look good in a lot of those wins, he has slowed down a lot and they were very sloppy fights. I would be cool and fine if he fights some older guys, but I don't want him to be matched up with any young up and comers, I don't think it will end well

Are you fluent in Portuguese? He's never been able to utter a word in English.

Agree whole heatedly with the rest though.

Aye. At the time Ninja was taking more head-beatings, so like you said retired about 8 years ago (32) ago. Shogun, however, didn't take nearly as much damage in the first half of his career, but has in his final act taken insane amounts of head-shots (thanks Henderson!). You'd think that at this point his brother Ninja, who is usually crying in either joy or despair after his brother fights, would have a little chat with his little brother.

ALL that being said, the guy has had a decent career recently, better than most UFC fighters. I'm not CTE expert, but if he passes the medicals legitimately, let him bang. If he's showing any signs, hang em up.

That reprehensible train left the station some time ago..

No it's not a language issue. I am only talking about the way he speaks in Portuguese. Shogun was never a light bulb, but recently he looks legit challenged when he speaks. Like stuttering and almost drooling.

Dana can do it. Dana probably will do it. There will be some greedy promoter that will pay him for his name and let him fight. How Chuck got licensed to fight Tito I don't know but he did.

Yeah, he's not good. I'm sure some of the Brazilians on here can verify his spoken language has probably taken a big hit this past 5 years.
