according to this interview they tried to get him again, but he didn't resign. at least from that interview, it seems like he doesn't ever want to go back to the UFC.

You never know with those types of things. When hall lost to Whittaker people were like he lost to a welterweight then Whittaker became champ. Rockhold got ko’d by Jan people said it’s over for him, but Reyes, the guy who easily could’ve beaten Jones with different judges, lasted the same time as Rockhold. Dark horses do that.

He's changed his mind since then, he left ACA about 8 months ago and is trying to get back into the UFC.
