@ 8 min mark

Kamal competed at the international level, which is basically higher than the average D1 wrestler would ever go.

Khabib thoroughly man-handled him.

it’s interesting because American mma fans don’t understand wrestling level hierarchy outside their collegiate system.

they literally think their D1 wrestlers are the best in the world outside the Olympic Games.

For anyone who actually follows wrestling they know KenFlo isn’t wrong.

Iran is a powerhouse at the international level, and Gaethjes credentials are at the bottom of the D1 level. He wouldn’t even QUALIFY to compete at the international level.

Also while we’re at it, Russia owns the USA when it comes to Freestyle Wrestling so that D1 nonsense needs to stop.

Yes, the dangerous Kamal Shalorus and his formidable 9-5-2 MMA record.

Fun fact, Jim @%@@ Miller knocked him out immediately prior to Khabib fighting him.

RDA then tapped him immediately after.

The guy went 0-3 in the UFC. This is shit posting at its finest.

Uhh... He represented Great Britain for a funsy exhibition tournament. He isn't really an international wrestler. Thats like saying Matt Hamil won the real Olympics and not the Deaf Olympics.
I thought he was qualifying for Olympics?

And Gaethje was taken down by Alvarez

Lets index this for the autists in here:

Gaethje (5-2 UFC record)
Kamal (0-3 UFC record)

I wonder which guy was a better fighter?

Kamal, I shit you not, had 3 total fights in the UFC getting stopped all 3 times. Jim @%! Miller knocked him out before he fought Khabib. Who comes up with these bullshit threads?

The best freestyle wrestlers in Russia mop the floor with the guys who mop the floor with Khabib. He is nowhere near the ability of making the Russian national team.

He's an MMA adapted grappler and world class at that, so it really doesn't matter talking about a sport he's literally never even competed in.

that’s because Russian national team is the hardest to qualify for.

question is whether he mops the floor with D1 dudes and the answer is yes

Well of course, that is why its ridiculous to bring up Russian freestyle wrestlers.

Khabib has literally never in his life competed in freestyle wrestling and would get smashed by the elite Russian wrestlers.

JG was a folkstyle All American and hasn't competed in freestyle. It was all just a absurd notion.

This is MMA and we don't know how they matchup. I am overwhelmingly confident JG will have better counter wrestling then Conor and Poirer, who are poor to competent wrestlers.

The fact that the US is even competitive with Russia despite their best guys having 15 years less experience in freestyle says a lot.

For the most part it’s only butt hurt Conor fans that are holding on the D1 wrestling as a way to discredit Khabib. It’s just a goal post they will use, and then move again.
