Boxing is a mess with all the sanctioning bodies, corruption, and bullshit. I always did like the mandatory defenses though.. You can run mother fucker, but you can't hide! Well.. except for yoyo-ing through weight classes trying to avoid other fighters.

There are some very clueless people here who think that Khabib would be stripped over this nonsense.
The UFC is very interested in expanding globally. Khabib is currently the key to the Russian and Middle Eastern markets and a means to an end in that regard.
Stripping Khabib means that they will NEVER get the rematch AND they would lose Khabib as well. That is lose/lose and some very short sighted thinking. McGregor fights will still sell very well whether it is for a title or not. If Khabib gets by Ferg and then shoots down the rematch next then that doesn't mean that it would be off of the table permanently. The fight could still happen, just not immediately.
Dana did not build the UFC into the #1 MMA organization in the world by being stupid.

If Khabib beats Tony and then gets stripped because he refused to give Conrad a rematch then the lightweight division would be the biggest joke in the sport. You can not call yourself the best lightweight in the world if you haven't beat khabib. A belt means jack shit.
