With all the talk from boxers about coming to mma, will we ever see a highly regarded boxer come to mma and fight a top mma fighter? Is Clarisa trying to get an mma fight or a boxing match with Nunes??

No, they're all afraid.

Shields is currently training for an MMA debut late next year... 2x olympic gold medalist and multiple weight division champ in boxing.

Most combat athletes are smart enough to stay in their lane, notable exceptions are guys past their prime in boxing like James Toney & Ray Mercer who were just looking for an extra payday in mma or in the case of Conor vs. Floyd where there was just too much money involved not to do it in a boxing ring.

In regards to a big payday the money (especially at the highest level) is in boxing so naturally mma fighters are looking to step into the boxing ring whilst boxers are rreluctant because there is a whole new skillset involved & the money isn't high enough to justify the risk.

If Dana splashes the cash though maybe that will change.

They do come to mma all the time, the idea pretty much ends after their first mma sparring, they crawl back quick ! Only heavy hard hitters stand a chance to transition to mma and they need to do it early otherwise they'll be average at most

Is she as good as Holly holm? Holly had a good run but her punches were a bit powerless.

Actually women fights are wack!!! I don’t wanna see that shit. They really don’t represent either sport well.

Why would any of them want to take the pay cut?
The UFC can't afford Joshua or Canelo and why would a boxer want to stop boxing for a year or two while preparing for MMA to get paid less than they'd get boxing and (probably) lose.

Shields has pop behind her punches, she's faced better opposition than Holm (in boxing) and so far has outclassed them. She's very aggressive and technically sound, fast. She's great, another great Michigan boxer.

Womens boxing is setup differently with only 2 minutes to work, maybe watch these fights lol girls get on their bike once she hits them. She'd have more KOs if she was having 3 minute rounds.

She also roughed Cyborg up on multiple occasions.

She's too big though so who is there for her to fight?
She's a MW boxer who's fought at light middle and super middle but that's still 154 lbs for light middle..

Her Olympic wins were at Middleweight so that's 165 lbs.

She's too big for women's MMA.

Think she's going to PFL which has a womens lightweight division.

As for smaller girls, Amanda Serrano is another boxing champ who has already had 2 MMA fights and has another one booked. You'll see more women boxers transitioning than men since the pay is better in WMMA.

Watch some of her fights, you have no idea what you're talking about.
LMAO I'd rather watch paint dry.

hahahaha! There aren’t many women that big in sports period. Women fighters and options are very limited.

You can not compete in modern MMA without being a real martial artist.

Boxers would need to studied grappling and MMA striking for at least 2 years before they could be competitive and by that point, they aren't boxers anymore, they're mixed martial artists. And they'd have to do all that work for less pay, and with the probability of losing. There's no point at this time in the development of the sport.
