This visual representation shows how many guys in the top 15 each of the top 15 has fought, which speaks a lot to strength of competition.

Edit: For purposes of dummy proofing. I did not make this. Also, it is a representation of who each guy has fought in the CURRENT top 15.

It's a bit deceiving because it's only about today's top 15. Tony and Khabib's wins over RDA should absolutely be there for instance.

Why are you including FW fights? Also, you completely left off Alvarez.

still kinda shocked Barboza v Oliveira isnt a thing yet

LW division is just weak

As others pointed out, the list is incomplete / misleading BUT note how Conor is #3 yet his only top 15 LW fight is the one he lost.

The list is showing current active top guys.
So yes Alvarez(a good win for Conor), RDA(a good win for Khabib and Ferguson) and MJ(a good win for Khabib) are missing.
The list paints a good picture of who's fought the top guys: Cowboy and Barboza.

People call Cowboy washed up bc he lost to the pre-usada champion Pettis, pre-usada champion RDA, Ferguson(who he won R1 against) and Gaethje.
I am happy he is getting the Conor payday and I hope he was smart enough to negotiate a big one for all he's done for the UFC.
As a Conor fan, the one guy I wouldn't mind him losing to is Cowboy.

RDA was ranked 5# and Pat Healy was ranked 10# when Khabib fought them

Edit:Also Michael Johnson was 6#

I get what you are going for, but unfortunately this analysis isn't very useful because it doesn't account for the status of the opponents at the time they fought them.

That's the most important thing.

It doesn't matter where guys are ranked or how they are performing now, it matters where they were at the time of the fights.

because he was the champion at LW.
And because his FW run where he cleared the division(minus Frankie) finishing everyone except Max and being undefeated counts for something. As it should.
If people bring up WW loses to Diaz and boxing loses against Mayweather to discredit him then we absolutely should bring up his FW run don't you think?

Graph is worthless trash. It shows only opponents in the current top 15, it does not show the opponents who were top 15 at the time when the fight happened. It does not represent the real strength of schedule, as it retroactively dismisses fights against legit top 15 opponents.

So... Conor was champ at LW in 2016... three years ago... and was FW champ before that... thus, he deserves the #3 spot at LW right now? Is that what you're saying?

you can make a fair case for him to be out of the top 5 due to inactivity.

But looking at the rankings he should be ahead of Poirier:
-KOed him in R1
-common opponents Khabib and Alvarez: Conor did way better against both.
-Dustin got KOed by MJ.
Beat Alvarez, Miller, Gaethje, Pettis, FW Max. Gaethje is a great win but even you have to agree Conor also beat Max and Alvarez and Miller and Pettis would be easy wins for Conor.
Also the Miller fight was a 29-28 decision, Miller was getting finished by most people.

Again, if you just look at the cold results you shouldn't rank him there, but looking at how the fights played out and their skillsets: aside maybe from Gathje, which fighter ranked under Conor would be a favorite to beat him if they fought in 3 months?

Yes, my first thought was also ” omg how could they forget Pat Healy “

For sure.

It's not a perfect representation by any means.
