Let the jocksniffers enjoy their little clash December 14th, but going forward, new rules need to be implemented to prevent fighters from holding their opponent against the cage to coast to a decision win which they are BLATANTLY doing.. watch Usman vs Woodley, Colby vs RDA.. were they not trying to win rounds instead of looking for FINISHES?

They should be forced to ACTIVELY attempt to gain a more dominant position / look for subs / look to finish the fight in general.. if they're clearly not, they should be SEPARATED, and a new rule should be put in place to discourage such gazelle tactics so that they don't go right back into that position after the separation.

At the end of the day, nobody wants to see that shit..other than a select few (WHO DON'T MATTER)

Get rid of Octagon and go to a ring like Pride. Problem solved

They already do separate guys if they're not actively trying to do damage or advance position. If a guy is holding someone against the cage and throwing strikes, it's a valid tactic. Obviously not the most exciting style of fighting, but there's not much the UFC can do to stop it.

Weird thread coming from someone with that username.

So lets say, two fighters are clinched against the cage. One has underhooks and uses to for a takedown into halfguard. He worked for that TD. Its a dominant potion. The fact that he isn't advancing his potion shouldn't be punished if he got a takedown, which is an offensive technique. Basically what I am saying is that the stalling is the product of a takedown, which is legitimate.

I seem to remember Marty throwing plenty of hard shots in that fight. ufcstats.com shows 141 significant strikes landed, 78 of which were from the clinch.

When Woodley decides to shell up, it's not going to be an exciting fight no matter what.

This is the most gruelling aspect of the game!
