I think one of the main reasons people hate on him is because he isnt promoted properly. The UFC promotes their fighters only when they are 100% sure that they can make a draw out of them. Colby never had the potential to be a draw and was never "worthy" of promotion in the eyes of the UFC, judging by the numbers he pulled. In fact, Colby is the anti-draw, having delivered the lowest ESPN ratings to date.

Colby has tried multiple times to act like the UFC needs him more than he needs them. That is not the move and it never has been. Dana always fucks these types of people over. Every time. At least Colby is such a douche that it's somewhat amusing. Exciting fights sell, with or without praise from the higher ups. If Colby wants fans to give a fuck, he should try finishing someone for once. Masvidal marketed himself better in 5 seconds than Colby has in his entire career. Fighting is the same as business, great products sell themselves.
