If you would choose a fighter per division in a Japan vs China contest, whom would you chose?

Heavyweigh: Kazuyuki Fujita vs Aorigele
Middleweight: Yushin Okami vs ?
Welterweight: Yoshihiro Akiyama vs Li Jingliang
Lightweight: Shinya Aoki vs Zhang Tiequan
Featherweight: Hatsu Hioki vs ?
Bantamweight: Kyoji Horiguchi vs Liu Pingyuan

Japan easily except for Weili

China will overtake Japan once MMA gets bigger there though

LHW - Yoshida was a small HW, who could make LHW.
He was pretty good, although he should be old right now.

Japan has way better combat sports culture than China. They have better boxers and kickboxers too despite China being so much bigger

Its still a young sport in China. There arent many great japanese mma fighters left and there seems to be little to no japanese talent coming over to the UFC. Horiguchi is special though. I think China will eventually surpass Japan. Its also a way bigger Country so there is a chance for a bigger talent pool.

Don't forget Kevin Lee on the Team China roster

Fujita is still alive? Is he 150 years old now?

Most prominent fighters billed to have Chinese nationality are actually not genuine Han Chinese. They are from inner Mongolia, Manchuria and other districts of minority residents.

Taiwan has much higher rate of Han Chinese and republic of China is demographically more pure Chinese state comparing to mainland China or Singapore.

I am not saying Mongolian or uyghur Chinese are not Chinese. But it is reasonably important to mention that ethnic fighters dominate Chinese MMA and descendants of founding members of China are barely present.

Name any Chinese fighter who could beat Kai Asakura or Gooch

Liu would get annihilated btw

The idea of "Han Chinese" is a term over used by Westerners who ignore that that group is made up of a bunch of sub groups and languages. If you're from China, you're Chinese.

Japan wins that series without breaking a sweat.
