Pretty relevant conversation if we're talking about Khabib.

His father can't get a VISA to the US, and having him in his corner is something Khabib really values. Abdulmanap added an interesting dynamic to the Khabib show in Abu Dhabi.

Javier Mendez hinted that if it were not for his father in his corner, Khabib might have traded blows with Poirier in the same way he did with Raging Al and Conor.

If he fights GSP, he proposed the venue be at Canada.

Las Vegas is where the most UFC events take place- so it's always in the mix, as Dana likes to say.

UFC also likes to have Khabib fight in NYC because of the city's large Russian and Muslim population.

Khabib in Moscow will be HUGE for UFC in Russia. The first event they had in St. Petersburg was really nothing.

Dagestan/Chechnya might be a funny choice but a gigantic stadium can make it financially viable as long as the tickets are affordable enough.

The place where the fight takes place might also influence the outcome of whatever bout takes place.

vs Tony at the ice wall

I really don't care where, as long as he's fighting Tony.

Even if its in Antarctica, with a crowd of penguins.

It would be cool for him to headline in Russia, I think he and his people deserve it, but more than likely it would be in Vegas since that’s where the money is going to be.

No, let him fight Tony in the US. And then rematch Conor in Russia

Not in Vegas, after the Conor drama he doesn't want to fight there anymore.

Is that necessarily so?

Revenue from gate is # of tickets sold vs. price per ticket.

Why can't they get as much, if not more, money in Moscow as in Las Vegas?

GDP per capita of Moscow is surprisingly high (1st world level), it's tenfold bigger than Las Vegas, and the Muslim population there is HUGE.

Why the fuck would they do a card in Dagestan? It is far away from most of the Russian population, and the largest arena (not viable for mma as it is a soccer arena) only has a capacity of 26,400.
And they can't pull an Abu Dhabi over there because there aren't vast amounts of open space like that.

If it's in Russia it's in Moscow or Saint Petersburg. Then they can also charge a higher admissions price.

I explained why.

And buddy, Dagestan has 3 million people. It's more than 1/2 the size of Ireland and almost 5X the size of Las Vegas. Also lol @ "far away from most of the Russian population".

It's the biggest Caucus republic in Russia and the entire Northern Caucuses will flock to Makhachkala for the Khabib show.

And what the fuck are you talking about open space for? What? What the fuck are you talking about dude? What kind of comment is that?

Also lol @ Dagestan/Chechnya not being able to pop up a stadium like the Emirates did in Abu Dhabi.

Russian government and oligarchs love spending money on expensive and superfluous sports ventures.

They'll happily build 3 gigantic soccer stadiums that are used one time a year than build basic water pipelines in agricultural villages.

In a pub. Can't let Conor have all the drunken fights to himself.

You right as fuck, bruh. Didn’t account for that.
