Stipe actually did some of the same stuff that got him KO’d in the first fight but he did a lot less of it and was way more mindful of Cormier’s power this time. Most of the punches he ate on Saturday were straight punches, which Cormier doesn’t have a ton of power behind. He was able to dodge, roll with or deflect most of the inside hooks, which carry Daniels entire weight in a small area

He constantly pivoted to his right, even as it was detrimental early. But it nullified Cormier's right hand coming in blind from the dirty boxing position.

dc came with the same gameplan as the first fight. Stipe came in with a slightly different gameplan and adjusted on the 4th. DC should have adjusted and started using his elite wrestling mixed in with the dirty boxing.

He didn't “get caught”, Stipe laid a lot of groundwork for that stoppage. If you watch the first fight Stipe was doing really well in the first three minutes, fighting a lot like he did in the rematch. Then he got eye poked and caught

"Caught sleeping"? DC gassed out and ate the same body shot 6 times before dropping his hands and getting smoked. It wasn't a lucky shot, and DC didn't get caught; DC got beat decisively by an opponent who rallied back after taking everything DC had to offer. It's about as convincing of a win as you could get and there's zero controversy- unlike their first fight.

Like everyone above MW, DC has holes galore in his game and for 15 minutes Stipe wasn't doing jack to take advantage of any of them

DC wasn't even fighting particularly well, but Stipe was somehow fighting worse - after the Costa/Romero and Pettis/Diaz fights the level dropped considerably for the main event

FINALLY, Stipe did make an adjustment, but it wasn't from first fight to second fight, it was from 3rd round to 4th round
