When he had Pettis up on the cage and Pettis turned his back to him. Then proceeded to drop and turtle up. Shouldn't the fight have been stopped then?

Intelligently defending himself, turtling doesn't count. Just because it wasn't the best or most advisable move doesn't mean he was completely done.

Rockhold/Weidman round 3 is a good example of something that could have easily been a TKO stoppage. Herb gave the champion every opportunity to show champion mettle and warned him before the fourth started he'd pull the plug if he saw anything like that again. Sure enough, the moment Rockhard got to the same position he called it.

If Pettis had gone limp, even for a moment, you might have something.

Nah, if he kept punching he might’ve got the stoppage but he let Pettis off the hook.

Nate robbed himself. Why fighters dont just stand up and kick or knee the body when another fighter turtles up is beyond me. Just like GSP Serra 2.

No. It was all on him. Pettis was waving the white flag and Nate decided to go for a jujitsu exhibition.

It’s Nate’s job to end the fight decisively. If that was a legit tko, he would have finished the fight moments after Pettis fell back. If anything, Nate robbed himself for not going for the finish in that moment.

Herb Dean could be seen yelling, "stop the fight already! What the fuck!"

nate costed himself the tko he should of let pettis back up and then go for the ko or tko again instead of going down to the ground

If he was hurt so bad they should have stopped it Pettis wouldn't have fought off the RNC and reversed Nate
