I am totally excited about this development especially since magic leap is so expensive and collects so much data about your surroundings I would be a little concerned about it. Leave it to leap motion and the open source development community to come up with a 3D printed solution that looks pretty close to a consumer grade product for 1/10th the price of a Magic Leap headset. Of course it does not include a processing pack put runs off your PC. I just think it's great that people are making an effort to get this off the ground. Some people are offering complete build for 600 dollars that includes everything. I on the part of doing something like this want to do as much of it as I can instead of buying one built already. Optics was the big part of getting this off the ground and it's nice to see someone has gone ahead and found someone to produce them. The displays are also a little bit of an issue but some people have found suppliers. It's 1440 X 1440 per eye or somewhere around that range.
FOV VS various other headsets really impressive.
Still not the most attractive thing but compared to other solutions it offers higher resolution and advance 3D tracking.
