Kevin Lee and Sage Northcutt's career paths intertwined

Some may recall just a few years ago when Northcutt was entering the UFC and getting a lot of hype, Lee made some derogatory comments towards Sage. Lee questioned Sage's heart and toughness, calling him a "rich privileged white boy", who will crumble in the face of adversity. Oddly enough both fighters suffered a similar fate just this past weekend, with Lee moving up in weight and Sage also fighting in a heavier weight class than normal due to One's rehydration policy. Both Lee and Northcutt were defeated, leaving many fans to believe that neither prospect will live up to the expectations once had, of either being a champion or an elite fighter.

I know but just saying, high expectations were held for both fighters and realistically it doesn't look like either will meet them. Lee was being talked about as a future champ and rival to Khabib but after moving up in weight his cardio problems remained and his future in this weight class looks bleak, being an undersized wrestler. He lost to a great fighter/former champ but also an aging fighter who is past his peak. Sage was defeated in 30 seconds against a dangerous guy, but someone that many do not know. Sage is also younger than Lee though, and just a few years back when Lee was about Sage's age he too was knocked out early by a Brazilian nobody lol. Another similarity

Lee has fought actual contenders and proven to be a top 10 guy, Sage has fought nothing but cans while making little improvement. i do feel bad about his injury though, looks pretty brutal
