Media "That was Dana telling the world we DON'T need Conor" - Ariel Helwani

Huh. Well since Ariel said it, we must not need him.

No shit. Dana's pride gets in the way of negotiations.

Dana wants Khabib 2, and Nate 3.

Thats fact.

He isn't needed, seeing as UFC is doing as good as ever and Conor hasn't been an active fighter since 2016. He used to fight 2-3 times a year, now that Floyd blessed his bum life he's had one foot out the door and only fought twice in the last 3 years.

UFC is now too big of a company to be ordered around by a fighter. With the new ESPN deal and other commercial stuff, they'll make a lot of money with/without Conor. Conor no longer has the upper hand in negotiations.

He wants it yes, but aside from being the biggest draw, McGregor doesn't have a lot of leverage to "hold" these fights randsom to meet his demands.

His last fight he lost emphatically, and has his Whiskey Business, Dana's aware that Conor doesn't need to fight so why beg?

Dana will stand firm on this just on cause. Thats how he rolls. You dont try and back Dana in a corner.

Ariel gonna Ariel.

Loves Conor, hates Dana.

The same thing can be said about Conor.

Conor has sold more PPVs than anybody, consistently beat his own records and then completely destroyed any other PPV sale with his last performance against Khabib. The UFC doesn't sell shit without Conor so yes.... Conor has the right to put himself at the front of negotiations. Without him, you don't get shit. PPV numbers will continue to crash without him fighting and add on top of that you can now only watch PPVs by buying them thru the ESPN+ app.

This is like the spoiled kindergarten kid who wants all the toys, snacks, and whatever and the authoritarian teacher say nope - you're gonna play with this one toy, eat this at this time.

But hey conor knows what he's doing and it may or may not work. His stock is dropping, why not try and get 1-2 more big paydays.

Revenue and stakeholder goals. There is a goal they need to hit every year, thats why Jones had to fight Gus even though he pissed hot.

Its a business, and growth has to always happen, stagnation means failure.
